What are your most important responsibilities as Carrollton’s Chief of Police?
“To monitor crime and make sure we allocate our resources where needed. To maintain communication with each Division Commander. To maintain communication with the City Manager so that the Mayor & City Council is informed of current events. To maintain communication with the citizens to make them aware of crime trends and about programs offered by our Department.”
What is the best part of your job?
“Serving people. I love to do for others. Whether it is serving the members of our Department or serving the citizens in our community, it is the most rewarding part of my job.”
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
“Spend time with my family. I have been married to my wife for 15 years. We have a son who is about to turn 13 and a daughter that is 10. They keep me very busy between riding dirt bikes, fishing, going to the movies, swimming or just hanging out. I also love to cook for my family.”
What advice would you offer residents about staying safe in Carrollton?
“Stay in touch with our Department and the programs we offer. We have a full time Crime Prevention Officer who loves to present programs throughout the community. Register to attend our Citizens Police Academy that we host every year. Be a part of the solution by learning ways to avoid becoming a victim.”
What is the one thing you want people to understand about your job and the Carrollton Police Department?
“We are here to serve you not just protect you. We are not perfect but we strive very hard to provide the most quality service to each and every one of you. Please let us know where we are not meeting your expectations rather that ranting to your neighbors.”
